Biography:

Wilson Masele is an agronomist and data analyst at the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Masele’s work spans agriculture, nutrition, natural resources, climate change, and environment through research and consultancy. His MSc research focused on the role of agricultural biodiversity in supporting resilience to climate change in peri-urban settlements in Tanzania. He holds an MSc in Natural Resource Assessment and Management from the same university, and a BSc in Agronomy from Sokoine University of Agriculture.

His career began at Bukoba District Council as an Agricultural Officer, providing extension services to farmers and evaluating development projects. In 2017, he joined the Institute of Resource Assessment at the University of Dar es Salaam. Since 2020, he has been with the Department of Crop Science and Beekeeping Technology.

He contributed to the Protocol on Environment for Sustainable Development of the Southern African Development Community. He has enhanced his skills through short courses in scientific writing, GIS and remote sensing, nature-based solutions for disaster and climate resilience, and data management and analysis.
