Rivo Hery Landy Mbolatina was born in Antsirabe, Madagascar. She is currently a Master’s student in Environmental Management at the University of Vakinankaratra. She has a strong interest in aquatic ecosystems and biodiversity. Through both coursework and hands-on experience, she has developed a strong understanding of environmental challenges, with a particular academic focus on hydrology and water resource management. 

About her professional experience, in 2025, she was working as a research assistant for the FLOURISH research programme and conducted a field survey on air quality perception and supported health data digitalisation in Antananarivo, Madagascar. In the same year, she joined the Ran’eau student association, which promotes water and sanitation access across Madagascar. Looking ahead, Landy aspires to lead her own water project aimed at offering equitable water access and valorising this essential resource in the Malagasy context. She also seeks to build expertise in food security through sustainable agricultural practices. 

Moreover, she is an active member of the Malagasy Mianala association; she volunteered during reforestation activities with the association in Antsirabe. She aspires to continue to grow and develop her knowledge and skills at the international level, with the ambition of bringing her strengthened capacity back to Madagascar to contribute meaningfully to the country’s environmental and water management challenges.
