Biography:
Nairn has an interdisciplinary background, holding a BSc. Sport and Exercise Medical Sciences from the Exeter Medical School at the University of Exeter and an MSc. Sustainable Development from the Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of St Andrews. He currently works within the research team at a London based, globally focussed investment house.
Drawing on his diverse educational and research background, he has a broad range on interests which primarily relate to sustainable development in relation to healthcare, agriculture and global food systems, infrastructure and the integration of AI and technology into businesses and socio-political dynamics. In his current role, he focusses on how to conduct research into mobilising private capital into quality companies that will deliver long term real returns for clients whilst guided by the imperatives for responsible investment, and for stewardship of capital, the environment and global value chains.
Although not a primary area of focus, Nairn is also passionate about the oceans and the blue economy as well as the increasingly high-profile dynamics in outer space security and governance. Outside of his research, Nairn is a keen sea swimmer, mountain walker, coffee enthusiast and plays national league hockey.
