Biography:

Marcelina holds a BSc in Biology and Sustainable Development from the University of St Andrews, specialising in climate change adaptation and mitigation.  She is passionate about integrating social and biological science methodologies within research and implementation on climate change and sustainability solutions. Her interdisciplinary academic background allows here to approach sustainability challenges and environmental management from economics, management, legislation, and policy lenses.

She is currently employed as an Associate Scholar of the University of St Andrews, carrying out an independent research project building capacity for the restoration of coastal carbon-sequestering ecosystems across Scotland, Costa Rica, Panama, Chile, and Honduras. In both her professional and personal life, she is a keen scuba diver, with fieldwork experience across various marine environments.

She is currently undertaking a MSc in Climate Change: Managing the Marine Environment at Heriot-Watt University.
