Biography:
Diamondra Ranaivoson is supporting the FLOURISH Project with research assistantship in Madagascar, working with Dr Jessica Thorn, Lecturer at the University of Namibia and the University of St Andrews; and Rui Han, a PhD student at the University of York. She graduated from the Department of Forestry and Environment at the Ecole Supérieure des Sciences Agronomiques, University of Antananarivo, Madagascar. For her MSc, she specialized in Ecosystem and Biodiversity, and her thesis evaluated the carbon footprint of a textile local company in order to suggest voluntary compensation options.
Her interests and experience include organic farming, lemur conservation and indigenous knowledge protection. She is also a social activist alongside the Omena Movement on breaking the cycle of emotional abuse in Madagascar. She has joined Dr Jessica Thorn, Rui Han and other collaborators in September 2023 and Jabuary 2025 to conduct participatory scenarios planning workshops on green Infrastructure, urban heat island effect and environmental justice around Antananarivo.
