Biography:
Prof. Dr. Bruno Salomon Ramamonjisoa has an interest in natural resource management, with a particular focus on forest policy, economics, and governance in Madagascar. He currently serves as the Director of the Doctoral School on Natural Resources Management and Development at the University of Antananarivo, where he also holds the position of full professor in the School of Agronomy. He is a Co-I of FLOURISH, supervising the Malagasy students, housed in ESSA Forets.
Dr. Ramamonjisoa earned his PhD in 1991 from the University of Antananarivo, where his thesis addressed the dynamics of wood fuel supply in Antananarivo. Over the years, he has published extensively on topics related to environmental economics and the sustainable management of natural resources, contributing to both national and international discussions on biodiversity and ecosystem services.
His professional journey includes key roles such as Dean of the School of Agronomy and Head of the Department of Water and Forestry at the University of Antananarivo. He has also participated in various collaborative research projects, such as the Future Cities Lab Global in Antananarivo and the R4D Project, which focuses on managing telecoupled landscapes for sustainable ecosystem services and poverty alleviation.
